ABE “THE BLASTER” HADDON

27 year-old Abe Haddon is highly explosive. Abe is a four time All American Wrestler who graduated from Southern Oregon University with a degree in ES-Geology. He was a member of the NAIA 2001 National Championship Team. Last year he was the U of A club wrestling coach. The last couple of years he’s spent commuting between locations for workouts each week. Abe is a great asset to our program. He does a great job of leading by example. In 2004, it was witnessed that Abe climbed a two-story + rope, with a 100 lb chain around his neck, without using his legs. His extreme intensity carries over into his line of work. Abe’s career focus is in rock mechanics and blasting. Although he has a passion for blowing things up, this part of his life may have to diffuse temporarily while he trains for the next few years as an Olympic hopeful in Greco-Roman wrestling. Abe has done a great job of putting himself where he needs to be to make the proper steps towards his goal. Abe has recently been accepted into the training program at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. So, this last month, Abe has relocated. Wish him luck; the road ahead is extremely difficult. However, Abe’s work ethic will produce a chance to make his dream a reality. And, as a, US Army Coach once said: “It will happen for someone. Why not you.”
